The benefits of using an NICEIC Registered Electrician!

Posted on: January 9th, 2013 by Select 1 2 Comments

We have been an NICEIC registered electrician for a few years now and are proud to be associated with the organisation as we aim to offer the highest standard in workmanship to our customers. We hold the Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer accreditation.

As an Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer there are a number of benefits to our customers.

1)      Safety and competence

We are inspected and assessed every year to ensure that our competence and capabilities of meeting technical and safety standards, codes of practice and the rules of the NICEIC scheme are adhered to.  This ensures that any work carried out by us is of the highest standard of workmanship and meets all current regulations and British standards.

2)      Compliance with building regulations

Some electrical work undertaken in a property must be registered with the local building control office. As an Approved Contractor with the NIC we are authorised to self-certify work to your local building control office.

On completion of any Part P we will register the job with Building Control.  A Part P certificate will then be sent to you directly from your local building control office.

This means that you don’t have to worry about complying with building regulations when it comes to electrical work as we will take care of that for you.

3)      Insurance Backed Warranty

The insurance backed warranty comes with any work that is notifiable to building control and is carried out by a contractor who is registered to the NICEIC Part P Domestic Installer Scheme.

If any work carried out was found not to comply with building regulations and if Select 1 was no longer in business (which we hope will never happen) then another NICEIC contractor will be supplied to rectify the work for you at no additional cost. This gives you total peace of mind and reassurance that the work that you have paid for is protected.

The warranty lasts for 6 years from the date of completion of the installation and the maximum amount covered for any remedial work on one installation is £25,000.

4)      Guarantee of Standards/Complaints Procedure

As an NICEIC registered Contractor, a quality service for all customers is expected from all registered contractors.

In the event that a customer is unhappy with the work carried out and they are unable to resolve the issue with contractor then the NIC will step in and help to facilitate negotiations and if required will ask the contractor to rectify the work at no extra cost.

At Select 1 we rarely have a complaint, in fact I can’t remember the last time we had one. We are positive that if you were unhappy in any way that we would be able to put things right. We only ever want satisfied customers. Read our testimonials to see what our customers say about us.
