We have worked alongside Select 1 on several projects, but on a recent installation, Darran displayed customer service that exceeded all expectations.
After the initial first fixing of electrical supplies, Darran started to do some testing, in order to ascertain whether his installation was safe. He immediately discovered a potentially hazardous problem with the earthing supplied by Yorkshire Electricity. He immediately phoned them and had an engineer on site within an hour, who admitted there was a problem, but it would take at least eight weeks to correct. Less meticulous electricians could have walked away from the problem, but Darran purchased 2 100ma RCD protectors and an earth spike and returned a few days later and installed the new equipment for no charge, but with the peace of mind that the household was now safe.
In eight weeks time, when Yorkshire Electricity finally correct their error, Darran has agreed to return, remove the equipment he has purchased and complete his inspection reporting, giving the customer the necessary certification and peace of mind that the installation has been completed to the correct standards.
Darran's thoroughness and personal standards have been excellent on all projects, but his example shows his dedication and willingness to go that extra mile, in order that the job is completed correctly and safely. I was recommended to Select 1 by the company who were installing window blinds at my house. Having had previous unhappy experiences of electrical contractors found by me in telephone directories, I was looking for somebody reliable and properly qualified who could do a wiring check and selective re-wire of my house.
I approached Select 1 (with trepidation borne out of my previous dealings with other electricians) and was very pleasantly surprised. They arrived to look at the job when they said they would, they talked common sense and I was even able to understand some of the technical terms they were using after translation by them to the English language. A sort of electrical explanation for non electricians.
The written quote arrived quickly, was reasonable in price and detailed enough for me to be confident that everything that I wanted doing was being addressed within the price given. Haggling over any work done that was not allegedly originally included in the price was something that I wanted to avoid. Having accepted the quote, Select 1 did the job within the timeframe promised, to the specification originally agreed and to a very high standard of workmanship. Although I had to wait some time for the job to be done after I had accepted the quote, I was made aware of the planned dates from the outset. Good electricians are always busy!
I would have no hesitation in recommending Select 1 for work of a similar nature. They are professional, thorough, tidy and courteous and they do what they say on the tin!
