ECA responds to introduction of mandatory electrical safety checks in the Private Rented Sector

Great to see that electrical safety checks in the private rented sector will come into force on 1^st April 2020…long overdue.

This will protect millions of tenants across the UK and ensure that landlords take electrical safety seriously. Old and poorly maintained electrical installations and appliances can cause fires and electric shock which can be life threatening. This new legislation will require electrical inspection and testing by a competent person, at least every 5 years.
